Top tips for staying Positive and energised during Covid-19
In these times of uncertainty it can be so challenging to stay positive and steer away from unhealthy habits.
So with this in mind I am going to share some of the things that I have started doing to keep my spirits up and keep healthy habits.
8am – Get a shower with It’s a Wonderful life. It’s an energising Body scrub by Temple Spa. It has crushed walnuts and sugar which exfoliate your skin whilst giving your body, mind and soul a wake up call. Its packed full of Meditation Essential Oils such as bergamot, grapefruit, ginger, lemon and tea tree to name but a few. £15 It’s A Wonderful Life 200ml
8.30am – Eat Breakfast. I like to eat overnight oats which are great for the central nervous system. I add cinnamon with frozen berries and probiotic yoghurt which helps to reduce bloating of the stomach. The berries are great anti oxidants and cinnamon is wonderful for circulation and is mood enhancing. I drink a black coffee as helps kick starts my metabolism and stimulates my brain.
8.45am – I take a power walk in and around my local countryside. The fast pace walking raises my heart rate which improves heart health and helps release feel good hormones. Walking in nature instantly lifts my mood, reduces any anxiety and makes me happy. It also improves immunity and memory.
9am – Drink Peppermint tea with a slice of lemon. I find that this drink helps blemishes on my skin as mint has salicylic acid and the lemon detoxifies by flushing out chemicals.
9-11am – Before I start my work I spray the room with Spiritude by Templespa as it instantly lifts my mood and keeps me focused on my to do list. Its loaded with Mediterranean Essential oils
11am – Snack on some mixed seeds and nuts as these are a good source of fibre whilst the nuts have good fats which help vitamins and minerals to be absorbed and they promote normal function of my brain and nervous system.
I also drink a lemon and ginger tea which is wonderful for boosting circulation.
1pm – Before eating, I sit in the garden and listen to the birds sing. I become conscious of my breathing pattern and follow a breathing cycle where I breath in for 5 seconds, hold for 6 seconds and breath out for 7 seconds. I find this instantly relaxes me. It decreases any stress levels and stimulates my lymphatic system whilst improving my immunity. I also take time to close my eyes and envision my life in 3 months time. I find this helps to keep me motivated towards my goals and improves how I feel as I see something not yet seen but hoped for. It builds excitement in my spirit.
For lunch I eat a mixed green salad with tuna or chicken which is packed full of powerful antioxidants and anti inflammatory. Fish and chicken are a good source of protein which builds and repairs muscle and increases fat burning.
3pm – This is when I light my Temple Spa candle, Light my Fire, which improves my energy levels. It’s the sister partner to Spiritude. I find the ritual of lighting it ignites something in my brain that says “keep going and stay focused”.
5pm – I place chopped root vegetables and baby potatoes in the oven with salmon parcelled in foil with lemon, ginger, garlic and herbs. While this is in the oven, I do a quick 15 minute HITT session. An example of this HIIT session is…
15 press ups
15 press ups
15 Sit ups
I do as many rounds as possible in the 15 minutes and make a note in my fitness book so that I can try beat it the next time.
After my evening meal, I tap into the relaxing products that Temple Spa offer but thats another blog for another day.
